When reflecting on life’s journey for me there are two things which quite clearly are significant portions of my path to positive spiritual development. From my late teenage years on, creative writing became a way of venting various struggles and attempting to understand the nature of reality and the true course of events from the beginning of time to our time. Rather early on this path I was introduced to the culture of holistic health and wellness and it became very clear to me that spiritual development and actively maintaining good health are strongly connected. This was something experiential for me and indeed it is found in almost every spiritual tradition known to humanity. Without a strong foundation of good health there can be no real discipline of study, worship, prayer or meditation. Nor can there be any genuine experience of reality or enjoyment of life. That many (or possibly all) the Prophets and Messengers of God (upon them be peace) had and taught this deep connection was there for me at the onset of my journey. I found it in the messages of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the teachings of many great saints. What is also very clear from the journey is that the majority of people have lost the awareness of the deep connection between good health and spiritual development. That is not to say that either is contingent on the other necessarily, but they do tend to work together.
While on the path of sincerely searching through several religious and spiritual traditions, I had the blessing of simultaneously sharing company with great people and highly respected authorities of a paradigm of health and wellness that primarily takes the approach of prevention. Worth noting here in connecting spirituality and health is that prevention is in essence abstaining from overeating and from eating harmful things. This again is quite clearly expressed in most spiritual traditions. I would likewise have the opportunity to meet and learn from people who have made significant contributions to the field in such a way that can provide us with tools to reverse the damage we have done to ourselves and the world around us as related to this matter.
It is my intention and goal in this life to use what I have learned along the way to inspire and assist people with creating and/or maintaining an active practice of health and wellness in their lives which in turn has a domino effect in the lives of all people. Indeed I sincerely hope to create an organization of service that will do just that and I request your prayers and help with this important matter. I call it Wa Tayyib Wellness Vision.
Thank you for taking the time to read and listen to me!
